Hurricane Sandy leaves 50 dead, could affect voting negatively

Hurricane Sandy has affected 17 states in the east coast of the US and left 50 people dead.

New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) will open today after two days of closing. NYSE was closed for two days in a row 100 years ago.
Sandy is affecting New York and New Jersey the most, boats are floating on the streets in south Jersey.
US President Barack Obama is going to visit New Jersey on Wednesday where tens of thousands were evacuated.
Airports in New York are still closed, bus service partly started on Wednesday.
Sandy is also expected to affect upcoming US presidential voting negatively.

US president goes into action to end blackout affecting millions

US President Obama has been mobilized to end blackout affecting millions of Americans due to Hurricane Sandy that hit the east coast of the country.

According to a statement from the White House, Obama made a video conference with US Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Director Craig Fugate and the heads of electricity companies and said that ending the blackout was their priority.
