“Turkish security forces and people will continue to fight against terrorism resolutely. We will strongly respond to those who will resort to weapons. No one can weaken this sound will,” Gul said.
Answering a question on a helicopter crash in southeastern Turkey that killed 17 soldiers, Gul said that he was deeply sorry over the crash, offering his condolences to relatives of the soldiers who died when their helicopter crashed in a mountainous area in Pervari town of Siirt due to bad weather conditions.
At the commemoration ceremony, President Gul said that Ataturk’s confidence in Turkish nation made him successful in his every step.
Ataturk was a great leader with his opinions, achievements and works, he underlined.
Turkey, as a modern, democratic and prosperous country, would be the one that would shape up the future’s world, he said.
