Syria aid campaign was strongly reverberated in Bosnia&Herzegovina as aid support increases in a country that faced similar tragedies.

copyright_aabadoluajansi_2012_20121231203524The support for the Turkish campaign “Winter comes…bread and blanket for Syria” continues to receive more support with every passing day in Bosnia-Herzegovina, a country which went through a similar tragedy as in Syria between 1992 and 1995.
Led by the Confederation of Unions of Bosnia-Herzegovina and humanitarian assistance establishment “Merhamet”, Bosnia-Herzegovina’s biggest organization, the Islamic Union, announced they would support the campaign for Syrians.
Deputy Chairman of “Merhamet” Abdulkerim Fazlic on Monday visited the country’s Reis-ul Ulema, or grand mufti, Husein Kavazovic to give information about the campaign “Winter comes…bread and blanket for Syria”.

“The Islamic Union of Bosnia-Herzegovina will join in the campaign and it has to. The situation in Syria is getting worse every year. Participation in such campaign is crucial. We will collect aid materials in our mosques in Bosnia-Herzegovina and in diaspora,” Kavazovic stated.

Aside from the Confederation of Unions of Bosnia-Herzegovina and humanitarian assistance establishment “Merhamet”, Istanbul Culture and Education Center and Solidarity Association, British humanitarian aid establishment “Muslim Aid”, Confederation of Chambers of Tradesmen of Bosnia-Herzegovina, various universities and press organizations are supporting the aid campaign in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

All organizations supporting the campaign in Bosnia-Herzegovina will hold a press conference on January 3 at the Confederation of Unions of Bosnia-Herzegovina and start the aid campaign.
