The Van Gogh Alive Digital Arts Exhibit, which was on display in Turkey for the 100th anniversary of the pharmaceutical company Abdi İbrahim, was visited by 215,000 people in Istanbul and Ankara.

Starry-NightAccording to a written statement by the company, the exhibit received 157,000 visitors in Istanbul’s Karaköy Antrepo 3 between Feb. 10 and May 3, and 58,000 visitors at Ankara’s Cer Modern between Oct. 16 and Jan. 3.

The results of a survey about the exhibit showed 93 percent of the visitors liked the exhibit and 94 percent recommended it to others.

The exhibition uses the avant-garde display of images to redefine the audience’s connection with art. The show also aims to heighten all the senses, using light, color and sound to challenge all preconceived notions about how an art exhibit should be.

The event gives visitors the opportunity to explore the work and life experiences of the prolific Dutch artist during the period from 1880 to 1890. Visitors are able to interpret his thoughts, feelings and state of mind during this time. Van Gogh Alive uses the Dataton Watchout system and 40 high-definition projectors to create one of the most exciting multi-projection systems in the world.

The system projects huge, crystal-clear images that are so real viewers want to touch them on an array of screens.
