Galatasaray Medical Park will try to get its first win in the Top 16 stage as its welcomes Olympiacos in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague tonight.

Galatasaray started the Group E campaign of the Top 16 with a defeat at the hands of fellowIstanbul side Anadolu Efes last week.

Like Galatasaray, Olympiacos will be seeking its first after suffering a defeat to CSKA Moscow at home.
Galatasaray has performed above expectations to advance to the Top 16 stage in its first appearance at the top-level club competition in European basketball, but it will try to show that it will not settle with just the Top 16 berth, with a win over Olympiacos.

This is the first meeting between Galatasaray and Olympiacos since 1960, when the Turkish side swept a two-game series against the Reds in the European Cup’s first qualifying round.

More than a half-century later, they cross paths again, this time in the biggest scenario possible.

It will also be a special game for Galatasaray combo guard Jamon Gordon, who faces his former team for the first time.

Galatasaray Medical Park has felt the support of its ambitious fans and tonight’s match at the Abdi İpekçi Arena is not likely to be an exception.

The only remaining match of the day is the game between Maccabi Electra and Barcelona Regal, with both teams seeking their second wins after starting the Group H with victories.
