A senior Russian official states that Moscow is arresting its arms sales to Syrian authorities till the situation there calms.
Vyacheslav Dzirkaln, deputy chief of the Russian military and technical cooperation agency, said to Russian news agencies on the sidelines of the Farnborough airshow south-west off London that Russia will not contract any new weapons deals with Syria or send any more weapons.

He stated that til now Russia has been supplying Syria’s army with spare parts and assist in repairs of the weapons provided earlier.

Syrian activists tell that about 14,000 people have been killed in an uprising in the country since March 2011.
