Nothing strengthens authority so much as silence -Leonardo da Vinci

There couldn’t be a better way than raising your voice in one of the most democratic countries such as the UK. Democracy, freedom, equality, rule of law is demonstrable terms rather than just being words in the UK. If you compare the tolerance towards the protests in London and another city, you can easily spot the so-called democratic countries. London has witnessed two different protests couple of days ago. Those protests were about Ukrainian’s EU dilemma and the violence in Syria.

 Protest

The attitude of Russia and China towards Syrian conflict was criticized by Europe. Chinese Foreign Minister, who attended Geneva peace talks on 22nd of January, emphasized that political solution or negotiations could solve the conflict in Syria. Lavrov, the Foreign Minister of Russia supported the statement of his counterpart. An external Interference is an avoided solution for China and Russia. According to Yin Gang , an expert on the Middle East, the current situation in Syria is Islam-related so the interference of external powers could trigger the violence and the conflict (thediplomat.com).

As peace talks going on about Syrian conflict, the unrest in Ukraine is getting more complicated by the death of 3 civilians and 1 police officer. The opposition didn’t welcome the new law that would ban anti-government protests. However, this new legislation triggered the violence among protesters in Ukraine. On the other hand, European Commission is keeping a close eye on Ukraine’s attitude towards protests. It seems like the fortitude of protesters will last longer than expected.
