In light of US President Joe Biden’s recent visit to Turkey, the two allies gave agreed to intensify their dialogue on how to more efficiently fight ISIS and seal off the Turkish-Syrian border.
One of the most important results of Vice President Biden’s talks with Presidernt Erdogan and Prime Minister Davutoglu was the need to further intensify efforts to destroy ISIS in both Syria and Iraq.
Turrkey and the US have been concretely disscusing sealing off the 100 kilometer border between Syria and Turkey to stop ISIS from using it for logistical support. The US has agreed to provide technical support and assistance for infrastructure in order for Turkey to better monitor and protect its border.
