Denmark has passed to its immigration legislation designed to deter would be migrants from seeking asylum by providing authorities with powers to seize valuables, and delay family reunifications.
The bill, which has sparked controversy in Denmark, was brought in response to the flow of refugees from war torn regions in the Middle East, and come after both Denmark and Sweden recently tightened their borders.
The bill presented by the right-wing minority government of Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen, winning 81 votes out of the 109 politicians present.
