The Presidency ignored claims that came out in a Turkish newspaper on Wednesday that President Abdullah Gül was hospitalised due to having been poisoned.
“The claims referring the medical condition of the president are entirely baseless,” read a statement released by the Presidency.
Gül was hospitalised on Aug. 23 because of a recurring ear problem. He cut short a visit to Kyrgyzstan for the Second Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS) in Bishkek, a visit he had started last Wednesday.
