We all need UN. Not only this ethnic group or the other. All nations.

Why Amal Clooney decided to act only after Yazidi’s were the case? She remembered the existence of UN only after the so-called Islamic State (IS) declared it will “destroy” the country’s Yazidi ethnic group through murder, rape and forced conversions.

People have been killed, raped and forced for years in Iraq. Beautiful lawyer Amal Clooney has urged the UN to act against so-called Islamic State. Why only now? Has UN been “inactive” regarding Yazidis!

Lebanese-British human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, of course mentioned that IS was at the same time attacking Christians, and Shia and Sunni Muslims. However, the main motivator was specifically a certain ethnic group.

Hollywood actor George Clooney’s wife, who is based in London, accused the UN of “inaction”. She explained: “The UN was created as the world’s way of saying ‘never again’ to the genocide perpetrated by the Nazis. And yet here we are, 70 years later, discussing the UN’s inaction in the face of a genocide that we all know about, and that is ongoing.”

Mrs Clooney advised the Iraqi government to send a letter formally requesting the inquiry before the 15-member UN Security Council can vote, the resolution drafted by UK.
Mr. Clooney concluded her speech to the UN by saying: “Don’t let this be another Rwanda, where you regret doing too little, too late. Don’t let Isis [Islamic State] get away with genocide.”
