Bloody Butcher Alliance: Hidden Cooperation Between Assad and Israel

Former Syrian Colonel Ahmed Hammade has made bold claims about a secret alliance between Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and the Israeli administration. Hammade stated that Assad has been depopulating Syria to create space for Israeli occupation, adding, “Israel is blocking Turkey’s call for dialogue because the return of Syrians and the elimination of terrorist organizations like PKK and ISIS disrupt the Zionist agenda.”

A Legacy of Betrayal

In an interview published in Türkiye Gazetesi, Hammade shared his insights into the Syrian regime’s long-standing collaboration with Israel. He alleged that Israel harbors ambitions over territories in Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon. According to him, the apparent support of Western powers like the U.S. for Syrian opposition groups was nothing but a facade. Instead, the Ba’ath regime invited Iranian-Shia militias and Russia while supporting terrorist organizations like PKK and ISIS to fracture the nation.

“Many people are unaware, but the Ba’ath regime and the Assad dynasty have always served Israel’s interests,” Hammade claimed. “When I served in the Syrian military, Hafez al-Assad sacrificed 100 fighter jets to the Zionist regime in 1982. During that time, Israel bombed camps where Syrian civilians lived and advanced along the Golan-Kuneitra line without facing resistance. Not only did Damascus remain silent, but its Defense Minister explicitly stated there were no plans to attack Israel. They even refrained from condemning Israel’s atrocities in Gaza and its occupation of Lebanon.”

Assad Under Protection

Hammade drew attention to events following Assad’s chemical attack in Khan Sheikhoun in 2017. “U.S. Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, who later assumed leadership of 18 U.S. intelligence agencies, including the CIA, met Assad shortly after the massacre,” he said. “Gabbard, a staunch Israel supporter, played a key role in preventing Trump from striking Syria at the time. This reveals the clear role of Israel in keeping Assad in power.”

He further asserted the existence of a U.S.-Israel-Russia alliance aimed at dividing Syria. “Every move made in Syria is part of this plan, with Iran indirectly complementing the arrangement.”

Turkey as the Lone Defender

Hammade emphasized Turkey’s critical role as a stronghold against the growing threats to Sunni Islamic presence in the region. “Turkey stands as the sole reliable actor and the central country in the defense line. President Erdoğan’s calls for dialogue with Assad have gone unanswered for two years because Assad lacks autonomy. He cannot take any action that contradicts Israel’s plans for Syria. On top of this, Iran is exerting additional pressure on Assad.”

He pointed out the historical continuity of the Assad regime’s complicity. “In the early 1980s, Hafez al-Assad facilitated the expulsion of Palestinians from Lebanon, particularly Beirut. Now, his son Bashar has nearly eradicated the Sunni population across Syria. This alone is enough to expose the relationship between Israel, the Ba’ath regime, and the Assads.”

Hammade concluded by highlighting that Assad’s actions have served the Zionist agenda for decades, leaving Syria in ruins while aiding Israel’s broader ambitions in the region.

The interview was originally published in the Türkiye Gazetesi daily newspaper on 23 November 2024.
