It was fifty years ago, on October 5th 1962, that John, Paul, George  and Ringo released their first ever single ‘Love Me Do’ and kicked off a worldwide phenomenon that is known as Beatlemania. The first cut from the debut album ‘Please Please Me’ hit the English charts at a modest 17th place and it was again a common composition by one of the most famous and successful songwriter duos Paul McCartney and John Lennon.

Still nowadays hardcore Beatle fans from Japan to Germany, Russia to the USA celebrate this round anniversary with concerts and events featuring Beatles cover groups and look-a-likes. What’s more, academics at universities around the world specialise in Beatles’ studies and there even have been a couple of International Beatles Conferences taking place in Cuba. Funnily enough the Beatles and their music had been banned in countries like Cuba and the former USSR (remember the famous ‘Back In the USSR’ song) as Western propaganda. It seems that even after 43 have passed since the group split up, and John and George ‘have left the building’ long ago , the Fab Four’s fame has not suffered in the least.
