copyright_aabadoluajansi_2012_20121018141205Turkish Minister of EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis came together with the President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Gianfranco Fini and Minister for International Cooperation without portfolio Andrea Riccardi in capital Rome on Wednesday.

Started holding his negotiations in Milan a few days ago, Minister Bagis travelled to Italian capital Rome with one of the high-speed trains which took 2 hours and 55 minutes. During his journey, Bagis talked to journalists and referred to the “incredible project” of Turkish Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Binali Yildirim and said that when the Ankara-Istanbul high speed trains project concluded, likewise between Milan and Rome, the train journey will take 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Bagis stated after his meeting with Fini that talks went informative for both sides and stressed, “I was surprised when I realized that some of our statements are being followed by them. For instance, my assessment on Europe’s progress report on Turkey was, “Reflection of Turkey from a broken mirror,” and he stated that he found my assessment suitable. So, our statements started drawing attentions of European senior officials. So, it means that we are on the right way.”
