Indian-American designer and actor Waris Ahluwalia’s exhibition, the “House of Waris Jewelry Collection,” has opened at the 150-year old Süha Fazlı Han in Istanbul’s Karaköy neighborhood.
The exhibition features a curated selection of never-before-seen pieces created by Ahluwalia, who cites the romance and history of ancient kingdoms as a strong influence.
The jewels, coveted by collectors and fashion icons alike, combine old world techniques to create timeless creations. The House of Waris has previously exhibited work at the Museum of Arts and Design, Colette, Phillips de Pury & Company and the National Arts Club.
Ahluwalia, who created the collection with talented artists, said, “I envision a world where objects made by skilled craftsmen are the most desired.”
The interior of the Süha Fazlı Han has been temporarily re-designed to accommodate the exhibition’s specific vision.
