Goverment looks for altering condition of specially authorized courts

The government indicated it would bring up the matter of the inspection and repair of the condition of specially authorized courtrooms in a apparent motion included in the 3rd judicial package.

Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdağ didn’t contradict reports that changes to Article 250 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CMK) ameliorating the condition of specially authorized courts, will be included in the 3rd judicial package. “The government’s analyse on the issue is underway. Once we finish, it will be appraised,” Bozdağ stated.

The government has adjudicated to include an amendment getting rid of the controversial specially authorized courts in its 3rd judicial package to be argued at Parliament’s General Assembly on June 30, day by day . Following the abolishment of the specially authorized courts, “a territorial structure” will be accomplished for law-breakings related to act of terrorism and coup attacks, and some of the active High Criminal Courts will be tasked with those trials.

Speaking to reporters yesterday, Bozdağ told process on the issue was carrying on, and that there were 2 provisions associated with the specially authorized courts in the 3rd judicial package.
