A Turkish ballet “Marriage” (Düğün) will be staged as part of celebrations for the 40th year of the Kosovo National Ballet. The ballet was created by Turkish choreographer Mehmet Balkan.

According to a written statement from the State Opera and Ballet general management, Kosovo National Ballet artists will take the stage at the Leyla Gencer Theater in Ankara on Dec. 14.

The work is a melodrama telling a love story during times of war in Kosovo and consists of Turkish, Greek, Thracian and Balkan tunes. The costume design was by Tayfun Çebi while the lighting design was by Sherif Sahiti and Mursel Bekteshi.

The event will be free of charge.
