OIC head denounces violence in Myanmar

Ihsanoglu condemned riots leaving three people dead and causing the destruction of houses of worship and more than 400 homes.

copyright_aabadoluajansi_2012_20121028092552Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly denounced the reported riots which erupted in Minbyar hamlet of Rakhine State in the west of Myanmar.
Ihsanoglu condemned the riots leaving three people dead and causing the destruction of houses of worship and more than 400 homes.
The Secretary General urged the government of Myanmar to take all necessary steps to end the violence undertaken by some gangs against the Rohingya minority and restore calm to the region.

Turkey calls on Myanmar govt. to take measures to stop clashes

Turkey also called on Myanmar government to take required measures in order to stop the clashes in the country.
Turkish Foreign Ministry expressed sorrow over death of many people during clashes between Rakhine Buddhists and Rohingya Muslims.
Turkey calls on Myanmar government to take measures in order to prevent the tension and clashes and to provide security, said the ministry.
Rakhine state’s officials said that 56 people, including 31 women, have been killed and more than 2,000 houses have been set on fire during the clashes which have been continuing in four states in the west of the country since October 21.
