San Sebastian intl. film festival to screen Iran ‘Parviz’

Iranian filmmaker Majid Barzegar’s feature length movie is set to be presented at the 2012 San Sebastian international film festival in Spain.

f_gholipour20120923110259517Barzegar’s screen production Parviz is scheduled to compete at the New Directors section of the 60th edition of the Spanish festival.

Centered on family relationships, the film depicts the story of a man at his fifties, Parviz, who has spent life in his father’s home and has never had a job. His quiet routine suddenly comes apart when his father decides to remarry and tells him to move out.

Barzegar’s first feature movie Rainy Seasons has been also selected to be screened at the 42nd edition of Rotterdam International Film Festival in Netherlands that will be held in January, 2013.

At Didar International Film Festival in Tajikistan, Barzegar won the prize of the Best Director for his 2010 production Rainy Seasons.

Some 17 films from 14 countries participated in the New Directors sidebar are to vie for the Kutxa-New Directors Award.

San Sebastian international film festival is known as the most important cinematic event in Spain and the Spanish speaking countries.

This year’s festival kicked off on September 21 and will come to end on September 29, 2012.
