Saudi Arabia rejects UN Security Council seat claiming the body being unable to deal with international conflicts.

unsc-jpg20131018155601Saudi Arabia, elected as the non-permanent member for UN Security Council, on Friday rejected its seat, accusing the UN of being ineffective in dealing with international conflicts.

In a statement released, Saudi Arabia, an advocate of foreign military intervention against Assad government said, “The kingdom sees that the method and work mechanism and the double standards in the Security Council prevent it from properly shouldering its responsibilities towards world peace.”

Critics of the UN has long been target of criticisms of being ineffective in dealing with international conflicts, on which interests of permanent members are in conflict with each other. As for the Syria crisis, while the US, Britain and France advocated supporting the opposition, Russia and China opposed them.
