The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps said on Saturday that Israeli officials must be aware that the Zionist regime will be annihilated if it attacks Iran.
“The dark stain, namely the Zionist regime, is seeking to launch a war against us. Meanwhile, they are fanning the flames of war with Iran and are emphasizing the point that ‘We have to attack Iran.’ But they are so stupid and witless that their leaders are stopping them. They are not aware that if such an action is taken, they will meet their end,” Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari stated, the Persian service of the Mehr News Agency reported.
He added, “The Zionist regime regards a war against us as the only option, but they have such an improper understanding of the global and regional situation that their leaders are stopping them.”
“They are not aware that they will be annihilated if they take such an action,” Jafari stated.
He said, “The enemies were unable to defeat the Iranian nation in the past, and will not be able to now that we have managed to obtain access to advanced equipment and technology in the area of defense. Therefore, I believe that no one will dare to attack Iran.
“However, there is a possibility that a war may break out. But it is not clear when and where such a war will take place.”
Jafari added that no one in their right mind would confront the Islamic Revolution, noting, “However, it cannot be guaranteed that they (the Zionists) will act with wisdom. These insane people may go so far that they would decide to start a war, and we must be prepared for a war. But you must be aware that a future war will be completely different than the eight-year Sacred Defense war (the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war).
“A war similar to the eight-year war will not take place.”
He also said, “We will make the utmost efforts to enhance our defense capability against the enemy so as to defend ourselves and other countries that need our help with our great defense capability in the event of any aggression and stupidity on their part.”
“The armed forces and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps currently have advanced equipment and capabilities, and no country will be able to confront these capabilities,” Jafari stated.
