A 29-year-old-man, who allegedly killed two high school girls in an armed attack in the Kadirli district of Osmaniye province on Wednesday, was found dead in the courtyard of the girls’ high school on Thursday in what appeared to be a suicide.

On Wednesday Sinan Yaman opened fire on a school bus transporting students from the Kadirli Girlsi Vocational School. Three girls, who were injured in the attack, were taken to the hospital. Two of the girls, Fatmanur Gedik and Fatmagül Yalçın, died at the hospital, while the other victim, Rümeysa Demirel, remains in intensive care.

Yaman, who fled the scene following the incident, allegedly opened fire on a school bus full of students because Gedik did not return the feelings he had for her. Turkish media outlets reported Yaman’s attack as being motivated by “unrequited love.”

Yaman called police early on Thursday, saying he was in the high school’s courtyard. After arriving at the scene, police found Yaman’s dead body in what appeared to be a suicide.
