Turkey’s tractor manufacturing increased 56.2 percent to 62,750 in 2011, which was a record high production rate for this sector.
Some 40,178 tractors were manufactured in 2010, according to figures of Association of Agricultural Equipment & Machinery Producers.
The figure was highest in 1998 with 61,868, but dropped to 10,840 in 2002 due to the crisis. Tractor exports also rose from 9,790 to 10,413 in 2011. Turkey’s income from tractor exports rose 11.4 percent to $212.8 million.
