Turkish PM Erdogan spoke at inauguration ceremony of Kizildere 2 geothermal power plant in Denizli
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Sunday, “Turkey turns into an energy centre in the region as the economy and prosperity improves each day resulting from our ‘silent reforms’.” Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Kizildere 2 geothermal power plant in Turkey’s Aegean province of Denizli, Erdogan pointed to the developments in energy sector of the country. “We aim not to waste even a drop of water,” he said underlining the progress with hydroelectric power plants. Turkey is among the leading European countries with its electricity distribution line reaching 1-million kilometres, Erdogan noted. Kizildere 2 geothermal power plant with its capacity of 600 million kWh per year will be the biggest of Turkey after Kizildere geothermal power plant, which started operating in 1974 as the second geothermal power plant of Europe.
