copyright_aabadoluajansi_2012_20121016104147Spokesperson for the US Department of State, Victoria Nuland has stated that as U.S., they support the decision of Turkey over Turkish ban on Syrian planes from Turkey’s airspace.

Replying a question at the daily press briefing on Monday about the mutual decisions by Syria and Turkey to close airspace to either country’s aircraft, “What does this say about the situation between the two countries? Does it mean that the risk of some sort of armed conflict is higher now?”

Nuland replied saying, “Well, certainly we support the decision that Turkey has made in light of the apparent violation of their airspace by this aircraft. It’s not surprising, frankly, that the Syrians took countermeasures there. We are encouraging all of Syria’s neighbours to be vigilant with regard to how their airspace is used, particularly now that we have this concrete example.”
Nuland touched humanitarian aid and continued saying, “Turkey recently granted approval for an Armenian flight to deliver – to overfly Turkey on the condition that it would land and be inspected. It was; it was confirmed to be humanitarian supplies, and they were allowed to go on to Syria. So the Turks, from our perspective, are taking a measured and appropriate posture with regard to these things.”

-Humanitarian aid for Syrians in Turkey and Jordan is urgent-

Nuland has referred to the humanitarian aid for Syrian shelter seekers and said that especially in Turkey and Jordan the need is urgent.
Nuland stated at the daily press briefing on Monday that U.S. is one of the biggest supporters for the UN appeal appeal inside Syria and in neighbouring countries.
Spokesperson Nuland stressed, “We have briefed on our humanitarian efforts. We are also working with all of our partners around the world to encourage them to help fill the remaining unfilled portions of the UN’s appeal, the Syria portion and the portion in neighboring countries. Particularly in Turkey and Jordan, the need is urgent now.”
Furthermore, spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon), George Little told journalists that Assad regime leaves Syrian people in the middle of violence and he pulled attentions to the international community’s call and stated that they should do more in order to isolate Assad regime.
