Speaking at a tree planting event entitled “Breath for the Future, Breath for the World,” President Erdoğan noted that some 5.1 billion saplings have been planted across an area of nearly 5.5 million hectares in Turkey over the past 18 years as part of the fight against erosion, and said: “We aim at having planted a total of 7 billion saplings by the end of 2023.”
