
Numan Aydoğan Ünal is an Agricultural Engineer (M.Sc.). He was born in the Üzümlü district of Erzincan, Turkey in 1942.
In 1960, Numan Aydoğan Ünal graduated from Erzincan High School and from Erzurum Ataturk University, Faculty of Agriculture, in 1964.
He completed his military service as a reserve officer lieutenant in the Kırklareli Border Battalion between 1966 and 1967. In 1977, he completed his master’s degree in Phytopathology at Ege University, Faculty of Agriculture.
After twenty-five years of service in various organizations of the Ministry of Agriculture, Ünal retired in 1987 while serving as the Director of the Erzincan Regional Plant Protection Research Institute.

Ünal is the author of several influential books on language and culture. He has wrote “Yazık oldu güzel dilimize”, which means “What a Pity for Our Beautiful Language”, and “Dilimizdeki tahribat ve uydurukça Türkçe lügat“, which means “The Destruction in Our Language and the Fabricated Turkish Dictionary.”
Following his retirement, Numan Aydoğan Ünal joined ‘Türkiye Gazetesi’ which is a daily newspaper in Turkey. He worked as the regional representative of this newspaper in Konya and Bursa for ten years.
He is currently engaged in social and cultural studies related to the Turkic World and he writes research articles for the “Türkiye Gazetesi.”
He also has articles published in English in Turkey Tribune.
