Who is Ali Koç? He is one of Turkey’s most influential businessmen and a respected sports leader. Born on April 2, 1967, in Istanbul, Ali Yıldırım Koç is the youngest son of Rahmi Koç and Çiğdem (Simavi) Koç. His older brothers, Mustafa and Ömer Koç, also belong to the prominent Koç family, which has played a vital role in shaping modern Turkish industry.

Ali Koç began his formal education in the United Kingdom at Harrow School in 1980 and graduated in 1985. He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration from Rice University in Houston, Texas, in 1989. Later, he completed his MBA at Harvard University in Boston between 1995 and 1997.
His early work experience included internships at Ford Otosan and Koç Holding’s Automotive Group. He also gained international experience at J.P. Morgan, American Express, and Morgan Stanley.

Ali Koç returned to Turkey to take on leadership roles in Koç Holding. From 1997 to 2000, he served as the New Business Development Coordinator under the Strategic Planning Group. In 2000, he became Chair of the Information Group Executive Committee.
Since 2006, he has led the Corporate Communication and Information Group. He joined the Koç Holding Board in 2008 and became a board member of Tüpraş in 2009.
