Who is Hakan Fidan, and how did his career begin? In 1986, he graduated from the Army Forces Signal Corps School. He served as a non-commissioned officer in the Turkish Armed Forces and trained at the Army Language School. He remained in service until 2001 and completed NATO-related duties abroad.

From Intelligence to Diplomacy
After leaving the military, Fidan entered public service. From 2003 to 2007, he led the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA). This position allowed him to expand Turkey’s development diplomacy abroad.
Later, he became Deputy Undersecretary at the Prime Ministry. In 2010, he was appointed Director of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT). He led the agency until 2023. He also served on the IAEA Board and represented both the Prime Minister and President in global affairs.
