Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu has instructed his party officials to draft an urgent action plan to keep the election promises he has made – particularly in regard to the economy.

A commission will duly be established to determine which promises will first be fulfilled by the government to be formed by Davutoğlu.

“There are promises we have given to various segments of the society: to public servants, to the retired, to students, to farmers. We will make the necessary plans for the fulfillment of these promises,” a source from the AKP told daily Hürriyet on Nov. 3.

The decision to establish the commission was taken upon Davutoğlu’s instructions during the party’s first high-level meeting late Nov. 2, the source said.

A timetable will be set as well because some of the promises require new legislation, the source said. “But before doing this, the government should first be formed and the parliament should start to work.”

In the meantime, Deputy Prime Minister Yalçın Akdoğan also confirmed the action plan. “We will keep our word. Our prime minister issued instructions during the party meeting. It’s very important that we immediately form the government. We are making a plan for [the first] 100 days.”

Akdoğan said the urgent action plan would detail which promises will be kept first and which procedures will be applied during the first 100 days.

The commission will be composed of some ministers and party officials who have expertise on the contents of the promises, sources said. Among the promises are increasing the minimum wage to 1,300 Turkish Liras, increasing the pensions and salaries of police officers and extending some subsidies to farmers.
