Syrian opposition elects ministers of interim government

The 10th General Assembly of Syrian National Coalition for Opposition and Revolutionary Forces was held in Istanbul.

Ministers of the interim goverment, under the presidency of Ahmad Tomah, were elected by the members of Syrian National Coalition for Opposition and Revolutionary Forces (SMDK) in their 10th assembly in Istanbul.

Eight candidates out of 11 received more than half of the votes of the attendees, while three candidates could not take the minimum vote to be elected to the posts they aimed to win.

101 of 123 SMDK members have attended the voting at the assembly. Names of elected ministers are as below:

Interim Vice President Iyad AlQudsi, Minister of Defence Asaad Mustafa, Minister of Communications and Industry Muhammed Mohammed Yassine ElNaggar, Minister of Finance and Economy Ibrahim Miro, Minister of Internal Administration Othman Badawy, Minister of Justice Fayez AlDaher, Minister of Energy and Livestock Elias Warda, Minister of Infrastructure and Agriculture Walid ElZu’abi and Minister of Culture and FamilyTaghreed Alhajli.

Prime Minister of Interim goverment Tuma will propose new candidates for the three ministerial posts that remain vacant.
