Messi becomes Turkish Airlines’ brand ambassador

Spanish soccer club Barcelona’s player Lionel Andres Messi has become the Turkish Airlines’ (THY) new “brand ambassador”.

A signature ceremony took place at Barcelona’s Nou Camp Stadium on Thursday that was attended by Messi and a member of the Executive Board of the THY, Ismail Gercek, which formalized Messi’s contract with the THY.
Speaking at the ceremony, Messi underlined that it was a great honor for him to be the new brand ambassador of the THY, one of the fastest growing airlines in the  world and Europe’s best airlines.
Ismail Gercek, in his part, said that THY had been Europe’s best airline company for two years in a row.
“As such, working with only the best in sports shows the righteousness of what we are doing,” Gercek also said.
Messi, as part of his contract with the THY, played in a TV commercial which was shot in Barcelona and Istanbul. Messi’s co-star in the TV commercial was THY’s other brand ambassador, NBA’s Kobe Bryant. The TV commercial will be shown in various countries as of December 7.
As part of his contract, Messi will attend various THY events.
